Love and Pride
I’m sure folks remember that old song by the group King? No? Well anyway…
Last year I shot with one of my favorite ‘togs on a cool shoot of a very cool and interesting woman for Marie Claire UK. Author Rachel Resnick recently penned her memoir provocatively entitled “Love Junkie”. But instead of being some dishy, trashy, tell-all, “Confessions of a Super-Ho” type affair, “Love Junkie” is a bare honest look at one woman’s life and journey to becoming the person she is now. Now the shoot itself was not cool… literally. This was shot during one of the infamous heatwaves last summer. I think we shot in August. I mean it was CrAzY hot with bursts of hot, not at all refreshing, wind. AND the photographer had a knee injury. But both photographer and subject were troopers and toughed it out. Crazy times often make for great end results!
